Charlotte's New School Announced

Princess Charlotte of Cambridge will start formal schooling in September. We now know that the
four year old princess will attend Thomas's Battersea with big brother Prince George.

George started at Thomas's in September 2017 and has fitted in well with fellow students who include relative Maude Windsor who was a bridesmaid for her aunt Lady Gabriella Windsor just a week ago. Maude was also part of the bridal party along with George and Charlotte for Princess Eugenie's wedding last year. Eugenie is Maude's godmother!

Catherine and William do the school run for their children unless official duties preclude them and having both children at the same school will make security much easier.

Charlotte has attended Willcock's Nursery school in Kensington since January 2018. We look forward to seeing Charlotte in her school uniform in September.

Meet Archie

Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was introduced to the world in a very controlled media session at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

Archie was born at London's Portland Hospital on Monday morning and shortly thereafter was taken to his parents' home Frogmore Cottage, Windsor. Great-grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip also met the baby during the photo opportunity.

As a cousin of the Cambridge children, Archie will no doubt feature in this blog from time to time in the coming years. Funnily enough, Prince George called himself Archie when he was playing in public a few months ago. From express.co.uk:

In January, the five-year-old prince was out walking near a stream in Berkshire with Princess Charlotte, four, and their grandmother Carole Middleton, 64, when they bumped into a dog walker.
The unnamed woman said the trio were accompanied by a royal protection officer who asked her not to take a photo.
And when George made a beeline for her dog and began to stroke it she decided to strike up a conversation with the third in line to the throne.
She told the Sun: “Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew.
“To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face.
“I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely.”

Baby Sussex Is Born

The first child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a boy, was born at 5.26am G.M.T. on May 6th. The baby is seventh in line to the throne.

Prince Harry spoke to representatives of the media in a quickly arranged press conference in the Windsor Castle Mews. A further announcement of the baby's name and title will be released in a couple of days.

The little baby is the cousin of the Cambridge children- the second after Catherine's sister gave birth to a boy, Arthur last October.

Happy 4th Birthday Charlotte

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge turns 4 on the 2nd May. The young princess is the second child and only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Charlotte was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington and was introduced to waiting media and fans only a few hours after her birth. Charlotte spent her first few years at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, surrounded by the countryside and privacy of the Sandringham Estate.

It is in St Mary Magdalene Church on the Estate that Charlotte was christened in July, 2015. Charlotte's paternal grandmother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales was also christened in the same church in 1961. Lady Diana Spencer grew up like Charlotte on the Queen's Sandringham Estate, in Park House.

After moving the family to London in 2017, the Cambridge family have lived in Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, however they escape to Amner Hall as much as possible.

Charlotte started nursery in January 2018 at Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington and is due to start school in September this year. Whether Charlotte joins big brother Prince George at Thomas's Battersea remains to be seen.

Charlotte loves ballet, riding ponies, has tennis lessons and is a keen swimmer.

We wish Princess Charlotte a Happy 4th Birthday!
