The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today visited the community of Bella Bella.
Poor weather conditions meant that a planned ariel inspection of the forest had to be cancelled.
However the citizens of Bella Bella made the couple very welcome inside the local hall. William and Catherine then walked on the boardwalk of the Great Bear Rainforest where they unveiled a wooden plaque. The rainforest has now become part of the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy which hopes to have all Commonwealth countries join to preserve their own great forests.
The evening engagement took place at Government House where the Cambridge family is staying for the duration of the tour. A reception was hosted by the province of British Colombia.
