The Queen's Christmas Lunch

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte along with Prince Harry arrived together for The Queen's Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

Prince William was at the wheel with his brother in the passenger seat and young family in the back of their Range Rover.

Her Majesty hosts the lunch each year for the extended royal families before she travels to Sandringham House for Christmas and the winter break.

Most of the relatives in attendance for the lunch are not able to be accomodated at Sandringham as the generations have grown and expanded. The Gloucester and Kent cousins are an example of this.

However, the Queen's late sister Princess Margaret's two children Lady Sarah Chatto and Viscount Linley and families are always welcome at Sandringham. They most likely attended today's lunch along with the Queen's children, their partners, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Prince William, Catherine, George and Charlotte will be spending Christmas with the Duchess's family in Berkshire so this would be the last time they would see the royal family before the 25th.
