George & Charlotte Back to School

Princess Charlotte. Prince George wore Columbia fleece jacket, Kate Middleton wore Barbour longshore quilted jacket
The Easter weekend marks the end of the month long Easter break for Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Much of the holiday has been spent at the Cambridges' home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall. The property on the Queen's Sandringham Estate is the family's "bolthole" where they have total privacy and spent much of the children's early years before formally moving to London in 2017.

The property has a tennis court, vegetable gardens and beautiful country to play in, just as the Duchess of Cambridge did, growing up in the Berkshire countryside. The family have a cocker spaniel, Lupo and at one stage a guinea pig named Marvin.

Both George and Charlotte are learning to ride ponies and Charlotte has tennis lessons when in London.

During the break the Duke and Duchess and the older children attended Burnham Horse Trials to watch William's cousin Zara Tindall ( also George's godmother) compete.

So now it is back to London where George attends Thomas's Battersea and Charlotte goes to Willcocks Nursery School close to Royal Albert Hall in Kensington. Charlotte will celebrate her 4th birthday in early May and will start "big school" after the long Summer break.

But for now the focus is on little Prince Louis who turns 1 on 23rd April. Happy Birthday to Louis.

Cambridges and Tindall's Day Out

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte enjoyed a day out with royal relatives on Friday.

Prince William's cousin Zara Tindall, her husband Mike and daughter's Mia and Lena joined the Cambridge family at the Burnham horse trials in Norfolk. Zara, who is George's godmother, was taking part in the event.

Charlotte was given a ride on mum Catherine's shoulder's while William piggy backed Mia. George was similarly carried by Mike.

The royal children are on Easter break from school and will be celebrating younger brother Louis' first birthday on April 23rd.

Enjoy the first photos. We will publish more as they surface.

Half Term Went Swimmingly For George And Charlotte!

Cambridge Family At Amner Hall
The Cambridge family returned to London on Sunday, marking the end of half term holidays for George and Charlotte.

The family spent the half term at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. The prince and princess would have had fun exploring the Sandringham Estate - perhaps using Anmer Hall's tennis courts or riding ponies.

Baby brother Prince Louis in now 10 months old and the Duchess recently told a member of the public that the Louis is a very fast crawler. No doubt he enjoyed the company of his siblings.

Catherine took the older two children to a luxury Norfolk hotel complex on the Tuesday to use the swimming pool. According to the Daily Mail:

Wearing a maroon swimsuit, she tried to blend in amongst relaxing couples but onlookers quickly spotted the family during their half-hour splash about.

Kate, 37, apparently organised swimming races for the children and afterwards they practised little dives off the side. The royal trio then all went into the sauna and steam room.
Arriving Back At Kensington Palace
One onlooker told the Mail: ‘Kate looked stunning. She had full make up one while she was in the pool. And she had drop pearl earrings and her engagement ring. ‘Her hair up in a butterfly type hair clip and looked extremely elegant.’

The royal fan said that both George and Charlotte were impeccably behaved. ‘The children were very well behaved and both were practising their diving from the side,’ they said.
‘Kate was organising little races for them and they did it around four or five times. She said "ready, steady go" and did a downward chopping action in the water to indicate the start of the race.’

Apparently George, naturally, won all the races. They said: ‘He was swimming front like a dog paddle style and jumping in from a squatting position the side.
'Charlotte was doing sitting dives. She was squatting on the side with her arms up in dive position, she kept saying "Look mummy I’m diving in".

‘Kate was very encouraging. At one point George went under and Kate had to grab him, he became a bit tearful and clung to her but then he soon went off again.’
Neither the little prince and princess had arm bands on and were ‘super confidant’ in the water.
Both William and Kate are good swimmers themselves and are clearly keen to pass on confidence in the water to their children.
‘Both the children swam unaided and were super confident,’ the source said. ‘They went under the quite forceful jets in the water. Kate politely asked us if it was ok for them to switch it on.
‘They were doing little jumps off the side into her arms. Kate did not move from their sides. George did ask to go outside to use the hot tub but she said "No".

‘When the children tried to jump in the water , Kate frequently indicated "No" and shook her finger and then she pointed out the no diving signs to both children who then seemed appeased.
‘They went into the steam room and sauna for a four or five minutes each. ‘From my experience, both are usually out of bounds to children under 14.’

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of the readers of this Royal Children blog.

Catherine, Charlotte and George were spotted at The Range discount store in Kings Lynn a few days ago. Members of the public saw them in the arts and craft and toy sections. Nice to know we aren't the only ones doing last minute shopping!

The Cambridge's country home Anmer Hall is on the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The royal family will celebrate Christmas in Sandringham House ( pictured) over the coming days.

2018 has been a big year for the Cambridge family- welcoming baby Louis in April and Charlotte starting nursery school in January.

The Sussexes will feature more often now that a baby is on the way in the (early?) northern spring. Of course the wedding of Harry and Meghan, an Australasian royal tour and a pregnancy have kept their heads spinning I'm sure. Now a move to their first family home, Frogmore Cottage soon.

Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas with those you love.

Cambridge Children News

2019 has been quite a busy year for the Royal Family. Prince Harry and Meghan wed in May followed by Princess Eugenie and Jack in October. Prince George and Princess Charlotte were in the bridal party for both of these weddings and that of Charlotte's godmother Sophie Carter.

Prince Charles turned 70 in November and we were treated to some lovely photos of the Wales, Cambridge and Sussex families.

A few days after attending Eugenie's wedding, Catherine's sister Pippa gave birth to a baby boy named Arthur. And about this time, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex announced that they were expecting their first baby- due in the northern Spring. Seeing photos of the Sussex "bump", I get the feeling the baby will arrive early rather than late Spring.

It has been revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge and Charlotte attended a performance of the Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House last week. Charlotte is an avid dancer as was her paternal grandmother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince George is taught ballet once a week at his school, Thomas's Battersea. From Hello magazine:

In October, Prince William revealed how much his five-year-old son was enjoying his dance classes. Speaking to a young dancer called Junior at Kensington Palace, the royal shared: "George is doing dancing as well, he loves it." He added: "My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing."

Along with all this excitement, Charlotte performed in her first Nativity play at Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington.

The Queen's annual lunch at Buckingham Palace for the extended royal relatives will take place over the coming days. Then Her Majesty and Prince Philip catch a regular train service to Kings Lynn in Norfolk, just near her Sandringham Estate for Christmas until early February.

We look forward to seeing a Cambridge family Christmas photo soon!

Christmas At Kensington

Now that December has arrived and officially Winter has begun, "it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas"!

Kensington Palace has special movie nights near the Orangery and Historic Royal Palaces has posted some lovely Christmas-y photos on their website.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are learning Christmas carols at school and nursery and am pretty sure craft and art time will have a Santa theme.

Where the Cambridge family will spend Christmas is still unknown- either at their Anmer Hall home on the Sandringham Estate where the royal family will gather or at the Middleton home in Berkshire.

As well as little Prince Louis who was born in April, the Middletons have another new grandchild this year. Catherine's sister Pippa gave birth to a boy named Arthur in mid October.

Wales Family Portraits

Clarence House has been trickling out new and never before seen photos of Prince Charles, his sons and families. The Prince of Wales turns 70 today and as well as various photos and  Royal Mint stamp issues, a BBC television program was screened in the UK last week

The photos below by Chris Jackson were taken in Clarence House gardens on 5th September.

Charles And Baby George

To mark his 70th birthday on the 14th November , the Prince of Wales has released several family photos from years gone by. We have already seen a shot of Charles with a 5 month old Louis.

Now a photograph of Prince Charles holding Prince George on the day of his Christening in 2013 has come to light.

Baby Louis Heads Back To Anmer

New video has captured the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby son Prince Louis walking from Kensington Palace to their waiting helicopter.

The threesome had flown into Kensington days earlier to attend the State Banquet in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are on mid term break and remained at Anmer Hall during their parents absence.

I wonder if Catherine was able to meet her new nephew, son of sister Pippa during their time in Kensington?

Louis Is 6 Months Old !!

Happy 6 months Prince Louis!

A busy day to the Cambridges. Catherine, William and Louis flew from Anmer Hall in Norfolk in preparation for last night's State Banquet in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

As it is half term break, Charlotte and George most likely stayed in Norfolk. Photos and video of the royal trio disembarking from the royal helicopter at Kensington Palace are available on the internet.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning at the Banquet and wore the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the Lover's Knot tiara.

Busy Charlotte & George At Another Wedding

The Duchess of Cambridge's good friend Sophie Carter was married to Robert Snuggs on Saturday at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in Norfolk.

Sophie, long time friend of Catherine and is godmother to Princess Charlotte. Charlotte and brother George were flower girl and page boy just as they were at uncle Prince Harry's wedding in May.

Normally quite shy in front of the cameras, George was more outgoing this time and could be seen marching around like a soldier and cheekily smiling for the official photos.

Catherine's parents Carole and Michael Middleton and younger brother James were also present as was Prince William.
