Cambridge Children News

2019 has been quite a busy year for the Royal Family. Prince Harry and Meghan wed in May followed by Princess Eugenie and Jack in October. Prince George and Princess Charlotte were in the bridal party for both of these weddings and that of Charlotte's godmother Sophie Carter.

Prince Charles turned 70 in November and we were treated to some lovely photos of the Wales, Cambridge and Sussex families.

A few days after attending Eugenie's wedding, Catherine's sister Pippa gave birth to a baby boy named Arthur. And about this time, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex announced that they were expecting their first baby- due in the northern Spring. Seeing photos of the Sussex "bump", I get the feeling the baby will arrive early rather than late Spring.

It has been revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge and Charlotte attended a performance of the Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House last week. Charlotte is an avid dancer as was her paternal grandmother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince George is taught ballet once a week at his school, Thomas's Battersea. From Hello magazine:

In October, Prince William revealed how much his five-year-old son was enjoying his dance classes. Speaking to a young dancer called Junior at Kensington Palace, the royal shared: "George is doing dancing as well, he loves it." He added: "My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing."

Along with all this excitement, Charlotte performed in her first Nativity play at Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington.

The Queen's annual lunch at Buckingham Palace for the extended royal relatives will take place over the coming days. Then Her Majesty and Prince Philip catch a regular train service to Kings Lynn in Norfolk, just near her Sandringham Estate for Christmas until early February.

We look forward to seeing a Cambridge family Christmas photo soon!

Princess Eugenie's Wedding

prince george princess charlotte bridal partyPrincess Eugenie of York will marry her long time boyfriend Jack Brooksbank on Friday, 12th October at St George's Chapel, Windsor.

Eugenie and sister Beatrice were brought up in the Windsor area, first at a purpose built home Sunningdale then at Royal Lodge in the Windsor Castle grounds.

Eugenie and Jack now live in a Cottage in Kensington Palace, just next to cousin Prince Harry.

Buckingham Palace has just announced the attendants for the day and Eugenie has included all of her young royal cousins and second cousins:

Bridesmaids:

  • Princess Charlotte of Cambridge
  • Savannah and Isla Phillips, daughters of Peter and Autumn Phillips
  • Mia Tindall, eldest daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall
  • Maud Windsor, eldest daughter of Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor. Maud is a classmate of Prince George and also a goddaughter of Eugenie.
  • Theodora Williams, daughter of singer Robbie Williams
Pageboys:

  • Prince George of Cambridge
  • Louis de  Givenchy, whose parents are friends of the bride
Prince Edward and wife Sophie's children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn will be special attendants. Louise and James are first cousins of Eugenie. Lady Louise was bridesmaid for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and is regularly seen at royal events. James is a little shy and is seen in public less often.

Princess Beatrice will be maid of honour and the groom's brother Thomas will be best man.

Little George and Charlotte will be wedding attendants for the fourth time.
