Chateau La Rocque

source: DailyMail
It has emerged that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their
children George and Charlotte stayed at a chateau owned by Michael Green- previous employer of ex P.M. David Cameron.

A quote from the Daily Mail:

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have holidayed in a stunning French chateau owned by the media boss who first employed David Cameron.
Prince William and Kate spent part of their recent summer break in the 16th-century holiday home of Michael Green, who has a £103million fortune.
The couple, along with their children Prince George, three, and one-year-old Princess Charlotte, enjoyed a ten-day break at Chateau La Rocque, in the village of Pouydraguin, west of Toulouse.
It is not clear whether the couple paid to stay in the chateau or whether they were lent it."

Cambridge Family Holidaying In France

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children Prince George and  Princess Charlotte have headed to France for a family holiday on Tuesday.

The family of four and staff were seen arriving at Pau-Pyrenees airport in the Duke of Westminster's Cessna Citation X jet. They party then left in two Range Rovers for an unknown destination.

The Cambridge's have used the Duke of Westminster's aircraft several times in the past. The Duke, Gerald Grosvenor is one of Britain's richest men and owns large parts of London.

The Grosvenors are great friends of the royals and have many connections. Here is an excerpt from a blog post I wrote on 17th September 2015:

  • Natalia, Duchess of Westminster is one of Prince William's godmothers
  • Diana, Princess of Wales was godmother to Natalia and Gerald's daughter Lady Edwina Grosvenor
  • Hugh, Earl Grosvenor is a godfather to Prince George.
  • Lady Tamara Grosvenor married Edward van Cutsem whose family has a long standing friendship with the Prince of Wales and family:
*the van Cutsem's previously lived at Amner Hall which is now home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
*Prince Charles has been a friend of the late Hugh van Cutsem senior since university
*Edward van Cutsem is godson of Prince Charles and was pageboy at Charles' marriage to Lady Diana Spencer
*Hugh ( brother of Edward) van Cutsem's daughter Grace was flower girl at William and Catherine's wedding.
*William van Cutsem ( like Hugh Grosvenor) is a godfather to Prince George"

It is not known at this stage where the Cambridge's will stay or for how long.

Cambridge Family In The Snow

Kensington Palace has released a series of photographs showing the Cambridge family in the snow.

The Cambridges travelled to the French Alps last week for their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either Prince George or Princess Charlotte had played in snow.

Photographer John Stilwell captured the fun. He was also tasked with photographing Prince George for his first birthday portraits set at the Natural History Museum.

Charlotte is now 10 months old and two little teeth can be seen on her lower gum.

Her Majesty's Milestone

Thursday 3rd September, 2015
source: kensingtonroyal

It is Summer/Autumn holiday time for the royal family and there hasn't been a lot of news of the Cambridges lately.

While Catherine continues to care for George and baby Charlotte, Prince William is working in his role of helicopter pilot with East Anglia Air Ambulance.

It is known that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be joining many senior members of the family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland next week to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's milestone- becoming the longest reigning British monarch on 9th September. Until now Queen Victoria held that record.

Before the 9th September we will look at the many commemorative events to celebrate The Queen's 23,227 days as Monarch.

Cambridges Holiday In Caribbean

Saturday January 24th, 2015

source: mustique-island.com
The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge and son Prince George have flown to the Caribbean to join in the Middleton family's annual winter break.

The family has flown to Mustique to stay in one of the luxury villas on the island which once boasted the late Princess Margaret as a resident. Ironically, the Cambridge's Kensington Palace apartment was also Margaret's home before she died.

Catherine's mother Carole will celebrate her 60th birthday on January 31st but it is not known how long the Cambridges will stay due to William having to study for his air ambulance exams.

The Middleton clan enjoy a break in the sun every winter and this is the second year that George has taken part. No doubt he will have fun toddling in the sand and practising his swimming skills.

The Duchess is due to give birth to her and William's second child in April.

George's First Holiday Abroad

2nd February, 2014

The Duchess of Cambridge and baby son Prince George have flown to the Caribbean island of Mustique for a holiday with Catherine's family.

Prince William is currently undertaking a bespoke ten week agriculture and farm management course at Cambridge University to prepare him for when the time comes to succeed Prince Charles as the Duke of Cornwall.

William started the course on 7th January and will have 20 hours of classes each week. Subjects include site management, conservation, farming and supply chains and planning policy.

From the Prince of Wales website:

"The Duchy consists of 53,408 hectares of land in 23 counties, mostly in the South West of England. The Duchy estate was created in 1337 by Edward III for his son and heir, Prince Edward, and its primary function was to provide him and future Princes of Wales with an income from its assets."
"The Duchy now has 3500 individual lettings, including arable and livestock farms, commercial units and residential properties.  It runs its own nursery in Lostwithiel which sells more than 4000 varieties of plants and the Duchy also rents out holiday cottages in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly."

As the Duke will be commuting by train to Cambridge each day, it was the perfect time for Catherine and George to join the Middleton clan on their annual sunny break. The royal duo were joined by Catherine's brother James on the scheduled British Airways flight from London and by all accounts George was very well behaved.
