A Second Baby For Catherine and William
Monday 8th September, 2014
Clarence House released the following statement today:
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.
The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."
The Duchess was last seen in public on the 29th August at Kings Cross train station having returned from a stay in Norfolk with The Duke. The couple had been overseeing continuing renovations to their country residence Anmer Hall however Prince George had stayed in London with his nanny.
It is believed that Catherine is in the very early stages of pregnancy and normally an official announcement is not made until around the 13 week gestation period. However, as she is again suffering from extreme morning sickness and will need medical care and bed rest she will be unable to undertake public engagements for an unknown period of time.
