The Wales Princes

The Prince of Wales is celebrating his 70th birthday on the 14th of November. As we saw in
yesterday's blog post, a photo of little Louis was released to coincide with the program Prince, Son and Heir : Charles at 70.

Now, the Royal Mail is issuing 6 stamps to mark the Prince of Wales's big day. One of the stamps features the Prince with his sons William and Harry taken in July during the RAF's centenary flypast celebrations, another shows the three Princes playing polo.

The stamps and souvenir packs are available from Royal Mail now.

Princess Charlotte Christening News

Tuesday 30th June, 2015

Prince George 2013, Chapel Royal
Kensington Palace has announced more details for Princess Charlotte's christening.

The tiny princess will be christened this coming Sunday 5th July at 4.30pm. The service will take place in St Mary Magdalene church on the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's country home Anmer Hall is close by and as a special gesture towards the local residents, the paddock adjacent to the church will be opened for the public to congregate.

It is thought that William, Catherine, young George and baby Charlotte ( in a pram or held by her parents) will walk along the path between Sandringham House and St Mary Magdalene. This will give the public a chance to view the family together for the first time.

The Queen, Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and members of Catherine's family will be present. However Prince Harry will miss the event as he is spending three months in Africa in relation to his charity work.

The Archbishop of Canterbury will perform Charlotte Elizabeth Diana's christening, supported by Reverend Canon Jonathan Riviere of the Sandringham churches group.

St Mary Magdalene is the church where William and Harry's late mother Diana (below right) was christened in August 1961. At the time Diana's family were living in Park House also on the Queen's estate.

Grandpa Charles and George

Unseen photo

Viewers of a BBC interview that was streamed live on the internet in November,  saw a never released photo of Prince Charles holding his first grandchild Prince George.

The photograph was taken by Jason Bell in October 2013 after George's christening.

Prince Charles was interviewed to encourage young people to get involved in helping others. Whilst admitting social media is not his forte, Charles acknowledged that is an effective way of reaching a huge audience.

The framed photo of Charles and George was displayed on a table in The Prince Of Wales' Garden Room in Clarence House.
