The Duke and Duchess
of Cambridge and son Prince George arrived in New Zealand capital of
Wellington on 7th April.
They had travelled
on a commercial Qantas flight from London to Sydney via Dubai. After
a short wait in Sydney, they boarded a New Zealand Air Force Boeing
757 for the 3 hour journey to Wellington.
Here the family
disembarked for the start of their three week tour of New Zealand and
Australia. Despite the long trip from London, the William and
Catherine looked happy and excited to be at last getting the tour
underway.
The Duchess, dressed
in a bright red Catherine Walker coat , carried her son from the
aircraft. The couple then travelled to Government House for a
ceremonial welcome and then spent the next two nights at Wharekauhau
Lodge in Palliser Bay at the southern end of New Zealand’s North
Island.
After this private
stay to recover from their jet lag, the Cambridge family will be
staying all but one night of their New Zealand tour at Government
House.
