Prince Louis of Cambridge

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced the names of their baby son who was born on Monday.

The little boy will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

Louis is the name of Prince Philip's uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten. Lord Louis was a strong mentor and grandfather figure to Prince Charles. Unfortunately Lord Louis was killed in a bomb planted on his boat by the IRA in the late 1970s.

Louis is Prince William's fourth name and is also one of Prince George's names.

Charles is obviously in honour of William's father the Prince of Wales. William's maternal uncle Lord Spencer is also Charles.

Arthur is another one of William's names ( William Arthur Philip Louis) and Charles is Charles Philip Arthur George.

So after the long wait we now know the name of our newest royal.

Beautiful Baby Prince

Here Is The New Prince!

Less than seven hours old, the new baby Prince of Cambridge was shown to the world by his delighted parents Catherine and William.

The Duke and Duchess showed off their baby son before returning inside the Lindo Wing briefly to thank staff. The baby was placed in his carrier for the car short drive home to Kensington Place.

Catherine was dressed in a red Jenny Packham dress with white lace trim around the collar. Similar to the colour Diana had worn when she left the same hospital with Prince Harry in 1984. A very appropriate choice for St George's Day as well.

George And Charlotte Meet The Baby

Prince William brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to St Mary's Hospital to meet their new baby brother just after 5pm.

George was a little shy as usual and still dressed in his school uniform. Charlotte smiled and waved to the waiting media and did not seem phased at all.

Duchess Misses George's Big Day

Prince George of Cambridge has started school at Thomas's Battersea today.

The Duchess of Cambridge was too sick with extreme morning sickness to drop George at school, but Prince William escorted his son to meet Head of the Lower School, Helen Haslem.

George will be known simply as George Cambridge and will be in a Reception class of 22 pupils.

As more photos surface, I will update this page.

The little prince will start formal school in September at Thomas's Battersea.

A birthday party will be held on Sunday.

Happy Birthday!
